Article V - Membership5.0 Membership:The membership of the Users' Group shall consist of all persons who are members at the adoption of these Bylaws and any other persons who may be admitted to membership in such manner and under such requirements prescribed by NOBUG and the Board. Membership in the Users' Group shall be open to those individuals who are:
Individuals who meet the above criteria will be accepted for membership upon submission of a Users' Group Membership Application form. Additional classes of membership may be established by the Board of Directors. 5.1 Membership Renewal:Membership shall be for a period of 1 year and shall be renewable for additional periods in accordance with procedures established by the Board. 5.2 Suspension or Termination:The Board may, at any meeting, by a two thirds vote of those present, suspend the membership of any member who has violated the Charter and Bylaws or whose conduct the Board deems detrimental to the best interests of the Users' Group, such suspension to be effective immediately. Written notice of suspension shall be mailed to the suspended member no later than forty-five (45) days prior to the suspension. The member will be granted an opportunity to be heard after action of termination. Concurrence by two-thirds vote of the voting members of the Board is necessary to terminate membership. Recommendation to suspend a member must be made in writing to the Board, and must be signed by at least three Users' Group members who are in good standing at the time such recommendation is submitted. Members serving on the Board may also be suspended or terminated under this Section. 5.3 Resignation:A member may resign from membership at any time upon written notice to the Board. 5.4 Fees:An annual fee payable by members shall be determined by the Board. Payment of such fees shall be a prerequisite for membership. Registration fees shall be payable to cover costs of meetings, such fees to have been approved by the Board." 5.4.1 NOBUG Visitor:The first time a person ever attends a NOBUG meeting they only pay the parking fee. 5.4.2 Non-Member fee:Any person attending a NOBUG meeting shall pay the current attendance fee. The fee include the parking fee. 5.4.3 Sponsor paid fees:A sponsor may pay the normal attendance fee that a non-member would pay. This is determined on a meeting by meeting by a sponsor / presenter and will be announced in advance. 5.4.4 OfficersAnnual membership fee for those who serves as an officer (President, Vice President, Secretary, Web Master, Treasurer) does not have to pay the annual membership fee. If the member resigns the post held the remaining part of the year is still due and payable. 5.4.5 WaiverThe officers may elect to waive the remaining membership dues for that year of the resigning officer by a majority vote if deemed necessary. 5.5 Membership Meetings:Monthly meeting of the membership shall be held at a place and time designated by the Board of Directors. Other meetings of the membership can be called by the Board or by 50% of the membership through written correspondence. A meeting of the members will preceded by not less than 7 days notice. Entitlement to vote at meetings is based upon membership on the close of business on the day the notice was make public. At meetings of the membership a quorum shall consist of those votes represented at the meeting.
