Session
Description:
The changes to Windows Firewall, Automatic Updates, and the
Windows Kernel make a secure, compelling environment for Windows
customers, but may require modifications to be fully deployed in
an enterprise environment. This is a technical discussion of
the changes in the service pack and what enterprise customers
can do to be ready to deploy the service pack. We will discuss
the details of buffer overflow prevention, network protection,
and patching technologies in Windows XP SP2 -- and the
deployment mechanisms to control each. |

unsolicited commercial email (spam) is a major concern and cost
for many organizations. Administrators can use the anti-spam
features of Exchange Server 2003 to reduce the amount of spam
entering their organization's mail networks. See how Outlook
2003 working together with Exchange Server 2003 lets end users
control spam in their mailboxes. |

business-oriented tips. Topics covered include firewalls (and
personal firewalls), anti-virus software and techniques, network
sniffers, port scanners, file sharing, Internet Explorer

Computer security has always been important. But recent world
events and the ever-increasing rate of computer viruses has caused
more awareness of security issues. Unfortunately, most people don't
know where to start, or overlook some of the basics.
This discussion will cover a broad range of security concerns and
will provide guidance in the areas of network security, host security,
anti-virus strategies and general best practices. Special attention
will be given to Microsoft IIS and Windows desktop security issues,
and online demonstrations will expose some common miss-configurations.
